On this website, we have tried to summarize who we are and  what we do . We  partner with our parents to achieve the school's philosophy, and this is one of the distinguishing marks of our school.

We also share the same philosophy with  Whitesands and  Hillrange  schools, which are also projects of IEF.

I welcome our dear parents, teachers, students, friends and guests,  to explore our website.

There is a popular saying, ‘Educate the girl child, educate the nation’. With this in mind, I hope to convince you that female education is in fact not a waste of effort, with the following points.      Firstly, what is female education? Female education is the process of both allowing and supporting a female to acquire education at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels. In many African communities, it is seen as a waste of time and money, but more and more, it is being proven that female education is crucial.      To begin with, illiteracy both in male and females affects a society. Illiteracy is the state of being ignorant or not well educated on some or may topics. The problem of illiteracy stunts the growth of the society, as the citizens are not productive. Owing to the fact that there are more females than males in the world, not educating the girl child means you have a high number of illiterates in the society, therefore leading to underdevelopment.      Next, it is well-known that females are natural caregivers and nurturers of children. This means that females spend more time with children who imitate their behavior. Considering this fact, would you want children, the leaders of tomorrow, imitating the behavior of uneducated people? The answer is clearly no. If we want a better tomorrow, it is important to educate the girl child.      Lastly, males and females have equal rights and so, should be treated the same. In the olden days, there were a lot of gender inequalities, but now, study is showing that what men can do, women can also do. This means that there is no need to discriminate against women as they are great assets to the society, just as much as men are. Education does not only inform women about certain topics, but also opens up their minds, making them more innovative and better able to contribute meaningfully to society.

The Chairman, Panel of Judges, Accurate Timekeeper, Co-debaters, Ladies and Gentlemen.       I am Cherry Obodo, a student at Roseville Secondary School and I am writing to oppose the motion which says that ‘Female education is a waste of effort’ with my below points.      Firstly, education is the process whereby students go to school to be taught on some certain things they don’t know about. Female education is the process whereby ladies, girls, women go to school to learn new things. Education is the foundation of knowledge. There is a quote that says ‘There is a male in every female, a man in every woman, a he in every she’ then why won’t men and women be granted the same privilege?      My opponent may say that if a girl goes to school she won’t have the time to do house chores and she would become disrespectful, but this is a lie. A well organized lady who has morals and virtues would know how to organize a timetable in such a way that her house chores would not be affecting her school time.      I would like to remind you that nothing educational is a waste of time or efforts because you may not know where and when you may need the knowledge.      Female education is not a waste of efforts because on the world today, women are the owners of some companies that are helping the world now, a woman is the president of a country and all the activities in that country are carried out peacefully because it is believed that females are naturally good in multitasking.      If a woman/female is not educated it tends to ruin her whole life because she would become dependent on a man which can lead to physical abuse from the man to the woman. It makes a man feel high of himself because the woman would always be asking for money. Also it makes a woman to go into some illegal works to earn a living  (prostitution).      Furthermore, an educated woman who works in a company with her fellow women and also men, there is an 85% that the company would be more productive than another company which has only men as their workers because the mindset of a man and a woman are not the same therefore a woman can have an idea which a man has never thought of before and leads to creation of more ideas, inventions and theories.      With the above points I hope that I have been able to convince you that female education is not a waste of efforts. Thank you.
